July Update 2023

The name of the Lord is strong tower,
the righteous run into it and they are saved.

Proverbs 18:10

Our God is mighty to save.

Over 40 people gathered in Ballymena in June for the New Horizon prayer breakfast.  This was a powerful time of fellowship, worship and prayer as we look forward to “Joy from the Ashes” and seek God for what He will do this summer.  A short devotion from a member of the Prayer Team reminded us that we need God’s help as we prepare for New Horizon.

“There is so much to be said about the significance of the name of God. We are told to honour His name as holy.  When we think about the name of the Lord as a strong tower, this is in contrast with the following verse – a rich man’s wealth is a strong city… in his imagination the rich man sees his wealth as a high wall. He finds help from within himself.  But the righteous one knows his need and runs to it – help from outside himself.

“A strong tower is immovable, solid and unchanging, we take comfort in that in our changing world,  our God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  The strong tower is intimidating to the enemy but a refuge to the righteous.  When we are in that high tower, we catch a glimpse of our surroundings from God’s perspective. Our view is shaped by His faithfulness for thousands of generations.

“Unlike the wealthy man’s wall, the strong tower encircles us past, present and future. Physical and emotional safety are not guaranteed but His promises will be fulfilled. He will draw near to those who trust in Him.”

We’re so excited about what God is going to do during New Horizon 2023 and we are praying you will be blessed through the week.  You can help us be a blessing to Christians across Northern Ireland and beyond by donating to support the vision.

Creche Volunteers Needed

Join the team which looks after babies and pre-school children during the morning programme (09:30 – 13:00).  Volunteer for one morning or more to ensure that parents are able to attend the morning Bible teaching.   Enable the youngest New Horizon participants to enjoy the week and experience the love of God.  Volunteers must be 18 years of age at New Horizon and register as soon as possible in order that safeguarding  checks can be carried out.
