June Update 2023

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness..

James 1: 2-3

Join us for New Horizon 2023: 5 – 11 August

Chairman Paul Coulter writes:  “[In 2023] things are tough for many people. Global news is worrying, the cost of living is hard, the culture seems hostile to Christian faith, and many have personal stories of pain and trauma. It seems appropriate that our theme is ‘Joy from the Ashes’. It is the right time to reflect on what God has been teaching us through our challenges and to discover how he can restore our joy even amidst suffering and even when happiness eludes us.

“We’re looking forward to what Tony Horsfall will share in the Bible Teaching, drawing on his own experiences of painful loss during the pandemic and his many years of deep reflection on the Word of God and the joy-bringing life it brings.

“We are also eager to hear from Bishop Ben Kwashi about how the Lord’s joy is sustaining believers in contexts tougher than our own. Our third mainstage speaker, Arianna Walker, may be less familiar to some, but we are confident that her experience with Mercy UK of helping people to discover freedom from life controlling issues will enrich our vision of how God may lead us on from New Horizon into lives of joyful service.

“There is much more in store in our seminar programme and in our programmes for children, young people and people with special needs. Come and see with us how God’s joy sustains and gives us hope and how his mercy is found even in the rubble of our loss.”

Introducing Archbishop Ben Kwashi

Archbishop Ben Kwashi is well known as a preacher and evangelist throughout Nigeria, Africa, England, Ireland and the United States.  He was ordained in 1982 and 10 years later became Bishop of Jos. In January 2008, he was presented as the Archbishop of Jos Province in the Church of Nigeria.  He and his wife Gloria have six children.  He will be joining us for our Evening Celebrations on Tuesday 8 August, Wednesday 9 August, Thursday 10 August and Friday 11 August as we explore our theme.
