Christmas Update

New Horizon NI

Acting Chairperson Paul Gilmore writes:  The blank page in our paper Bibles between the Old & New Testament represents 400 years referred to many, as the silent years, because God seemed to go quiet. A modern carol “Light of the World” describes the hope of many, for the Messiah, during these silent years

The world waits for a miracle

The heart longs for a little bit of hope

Oh come, oh come, Emmanuel

A child prays for peace on Earth

And she’s calling out from a sea of hurt

Oh come, oh come, Emmanuel

And can you hear the angels singing

Glory to the light of the world

Glory, the light of the world is here

We sing of Jesus as the light of the world, but He said to His disciples, “You are the light of the world.”  During New Horizon 2024 (3-9 August) we will explore what this means to us in our homes and neighbourhoods, in workplaces and churches, on buses and in shops, in person and online. How can we be the light of the world by bringing ‘that little bit of hope’ into ‘a sea of hurt’?

We all have influence: the way we act and speak impacts others around us in some way. Our power to influence is not in our ordinary selves – our strength or understanding – but in our extraordinary Saviour –His power and wisdom – who is at work in us by the Spirit.

As you plan to be with us in August, why not invite others that you know, to come along with you.

We are deeply thankful for all who support New Horizon by giving of their time and money. If you haven’t already, we would encourage you to set up a standing order. This helps you by spreading your giving over the year and allows us to plan better.

May you know extra-ordinary hope, joy and peace in the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ this Christmas time.

We used to charge for our audio recordings but our catalogue going back to 2009 is now available to download free of charge – hundreds of recordings of Bible teaching and powerful messages from leading theologians, preachers and teachers.  What a wonderful resource for the church and for individual Christians across Northern Ireland and beyond.

New Horizon is dedicated to inspiring a selfless devotion to the Lord Jesus, a radical adherence to His Word, an enduring zeal for His Kingdom, and an unwavering love for His World. Contributing to New Horizon provides an opportunity to become a partner in realizing this vision. The event is offered free of charge as a ministry to the body of Christ.

To sustain New Horizon, we estimate a cost of £120 per person for the entire conference or approximately £10 per session. Establishing a monthly standing order of £10 can distribute the cost over the year and aid in our planning for Summer 2024. We recognise that not everyone can contribute this amount, and every donation, regardless of size, is deeply valued. Considering our past experiences, we may require some individuals to generously contribute more to support those who are unable to cover the costs.
