Questions about gender identity are among the most sensitive and confusing facing the church today. This seminar will provide an overview of the topic, and will consider what the bible says about being male/female while also discussing the range of transgender experiences that those in the church’s care might feel. During his seminar at New Horizon 2023, Simon Byrne did not offer ‘one-size fits all’ answers, but instead a framework for navigating some of the pastoral and practical dilemmas facing churches (and parents) in this area. “At all times, we’ll remember we are dealing with people, not just theological arguments,” he said.
