2021 News

Christmas Greetings from New Horizon

This Christmastime may the grace of the Lord Jesus – our Prince of Peace, the love of God – our Everlasting Father, and the fellowship and comfort of the Holy Spirit – our Wonderful Counsellor be with you all.

Announcing NH2021: 9 – 13 August

As we look forward to a New Year, we are delighted that arrangements for New Horizon 2021 are taking shape.  We are planning to have a LIVE event next August, although we do expect to be limited by Covid restrictions.

NH2021 will run for five days from Monday 9 August to Friday 13 August featuring Bible Teaching followed by a seminar in the mornings together with an evening celebration each day.

The event will be staged at the Coleraine Campus of Ulster University in The Diamond (our original home) with as many in attendance as the rules allow. We’re delighted that these events will also be LIVE streamed and we intend to explore “add ons” both on site and digitally.

There will be no on-site children’s work  due to current restrictions but we are planning some one offs. As restrictions relax, we will reassess other activities.

Together we look forward to exploring our theme:

People of Peace: seeking, knowing and making peace

Our minds are often anxious and fearful in times of uncertainty and change.

Our homes and churches can be places of tension instead of refuges of harmony.

Our world is burdened with ill health, economic hardship and deep political divisions.

But, through Christ Jesus, the God of peace is making a people of peace.

Jesus, the man of peace, brought peace to broken people and gave His life to reconcile us to the Father – we have peace with God through Him (Romans 5:1).

Jesus, the risen Lord guards our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7) in the peace of God and in Him the bond of peace holds our churches together in unity (Ephesians 4:3).

In the name of Jesus, the head of the Church, we go into our communities and the wider world as peacemakers to sow peace and reap a harvest of righteousness (James 3:18).

Our prayer for New Horizon 2021 is that we might become people who seek, know and make peace.

We want to grow in a biblical understanding of the fullness of God’s peace.

We want to know and experience God’s peace in our hearts, our families and our churches.

We want to go together as peacemakers to sow peace in our workplaces, our communities and our world.

May the God of peace, through the gospel of peace, make us people of peace.

Thank you for your continued support as the New Horizon team adapts to the challenging times we are living through yet still with the same vision
to serve the body of Christ.  Please do partner with us in prayer and financially as you are able.  You can still view sessions from NH2020 on the New Horizon YouTube Channel.
