What role do the churches have dealing with our past? This seminar will focus on some of the key elements within the recent and the distant past that make social harmony and personal healing difficult in our society. It will outline some of the challenges and opportunities facing the churches. These include understanding the role of the Christian churches in the past, both for good and for harm. It will also consider the ways in which churches might offer safe spaces for reflection, for encounter, for counselling, for renewed  civic involvement and for experimentation with political imagination.
