New Horizon 2012 is now just about 2 weeks away and preparations are at their final stages. The Evening Celebration on Saturday 11th August starts our week off at 7.30, with guest speaker Malcolm Duncan. We are really looking forward to having Malcolm and Simon Guillabaud lead our evening Celebrations each evening and Calisto Odede lead the Bible readings each morning during the week. For full details of this year’s program visit www.newhorizon.org.uk. Below are a few highlights of what is happening during the week.
We have a choice of over 50 seminars during the week, both in the morning, 11.45 to 12.45 and late night after the Evening Celebration. With over 30 different contributors and a vast range of topics and issues being covered there will be something for everyone. If you want your mind stretched, your heart encouraged or you want to be informed, then don’t miss out on the seminar program. www.newhorizon.org.uk/event/seminars.
Focus on Mission
Over 30 mission agencies and organisations will be exhibiting at NH2012 in the main entrance marquee. As well as that, Hope Street, which runs after the Evening Celebrations in the Octagon, has a full program of music and interviews providing a contemporary presentation of mission. During the course of the week there will be lots of opportunity to discover what God is doing across the world. www.newhorizon.org.uk/mission/.
NHExtra take place after the Evening Celebration and includes late night seminars and Hope Street. As well as that The New Irish Choir and Orchestra will be performing a full concert in the Diamond on Wednesday evening. Tickets are available online or at the door. We will also be recording a NH worship CD in the Diamond on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and need as many of you as possible to be part of that. https://newhorizon.org.uk.
Children and Youth program
We cater for babies at crèche, children through our SU program and young people at Livewire and On The Edge. Registration is now closed for these events, however some places are still available. You can book your places by turning up on Saturday or Sunday night at the registration tent on site. Any remaining places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. https://newhorizon.org.uk/the-event/children-youth-programme/.
If you would like to be part of the team that helps make New Horizon happen, there are still opportunities to do that. There are places in our stewarding, car parking and general admin teams. Even if you can only give a day of your time, that would be a great help. If you are interested please contact Shirley in the office, 02829557157. www.newhorizon.org.uk/get-involved/.
Along side all of the above we have a prayer and pastoral support team, who will be available throughout the week. If you need some space and time to quietly reflect during the week, the Quiet Room will be available again this year.
