Around 400 volunteers work to make New Horizon possible every year. Experience all the joy of New Horizon as part of a dedicated team helping with the site and set up, stewarding, support services (info desk, administration and hospitality) or in the creche. Which area would you like to serve in…


Site

• Assist with the erection of the Main Tent and dismantling the site after the event.

• Cook barbecue lunch

• Help with preparing and maintaining the tented village both in the run up to, and during the event.

• Join the tent-sitting team during the week to ensure security of equipment etc.


Stewarding

• Assisting and organising the seating of those attending.

• Directing people at venue entrances and exits.

• Assisting with car parking.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award Residential

Week one: 29 July – 3 August 2024 or Week Two 4 – 10 August 2024

Help with fitting out, setting up and maintaining the Main Tent and tented Village for the New Horizon event.

Enjoy making new friends and working as a team.


Creche

Join the team which looks after babies and pre-school children during the morning programme (09:30 – 13:00).

Volunteers must be 18 years of age at New Horizon and register as soon as possible in order that appropriate checks can be carried out.


Administration & Hospitality

Join the team that provides general behind the scenes support for the event, e.g. staffing the information desks, speaker hospitality and other administrative duties.    

Media Team

Are you studying or interested in any aspect of media, communications, writing, blogging & journalism, graphic design, photography, filmmaking or social media, app & web?

This year, we have the following places available. You will need to complete an application form to be considered for any of the following:

  • Videography – 3 Positions
  • Photography – 3 Positions
  • Writing – Blogging  Journalism – 3 positions
  • Graphic Design – 1 position
  • Web & App admin & Social Media – 1 position

Children & Youth Ministry

Scripture Union (SU)

Join the team which organizes the programme for children from P1 to P7. Choose the age group that suits you: P1 – P4, P5 – P7 and SU SEN P1-7

Livewire

Livewire forms an integral part of the New Horizon programme, catering for 15 – 18 year olds from 10.00 to 13.00 each weekday.

Livewire has developed over the years to accommodate 350+ teenagers coming together to grow in their faith and to challenge how they live their Christian lives.

This year’s dates are 5 – 9 August 2024.


On The Edge (OTE)

OTE forms an integral part of the New Horizon programme, catering for 11 to 14 year olds from 10:00 to 13:00 each weekday and the evenings 19:00 to 21:30.

OTE has developed over the years to accommodate 200+ teenagers that come together to encourage, challenge and support one another in Christ. For those looking to serve, you will throw yourself behind this mission.

Salt Factory Sports

Salt Factory Sports provide a fun-filled programme for 8-10 year olds on Monday to Friday evening.Volunteers are needed to help with the programme which offers a variety of games and activities in the Sports Centre at the University.


Volunteer Commissioning Service

Our Volunteer Commissioning service is such a special time of fellowship on the Sunday afternoon as hundreds of our volunteers meet together to worship, pray, be challenged, bless each other and of course to be commissioned for their service at New Horizon.
